ST. PAUL, Minn. (KFGO WCCO) – St. Paul authorities are investigating a house fire that injured seven people Wednesday morning, including six children.
According to the city’s fire department, fire crews were dispatched at 1:31 a.m. to the report of a structure fire on the 1200 block of Arkwright Street North.
When fire crews arrived, they made entry and located seven occupants inside — one adult and six children. They were taken out of the residence and officials say the condition of some of them required “immediate CPR and intervention” by fire paramedics.
All seven victims were brought to the hospital, with some of them in critical condition. No further details were given on their condition.
A total of 63 firefighters responded. Fire crews cleared the scene a couple of hours later, but the scene remained filled with St. Paul police and arson investigators trying to piece together what happened.
Officials say the fire is under investigation, but it is not suspicious and appears accidental.
No injuries were reported among emergency responders.
