ROSEMOUNT, Minn. – The Rosemount, Minnesota city council has given unanimous approval to the proposed $700 million Meta data center project in Umore Park.
Council members in the St. Paul suburb approved the plan after hearing some opposition from the public. Many residents expressed concerns about the environmental impact and some cited questionable business ethics of Facebook and Instagram’s parent company.
The University of Minnesota Board of Regents sold the 280 acres of land to Meta platforms.
