9: Bobby Vee
Vee was born in Fargo, North Dakota. He was a pop singer sensation who scored a #1 hit single with “Take Good Care of My Baby” in 1961.
He got his start when his high school band stepped in for the great Buddy Holly on the day the singer died in a tragic plane crash en route to perform in Moorhead, MN.

Leslie Louise Bibb, is an American actress and model originally from Bismarck, ND.
One of her standout roles includes the memorable character Carley Bobby in the comedic gem “Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby,” where she portrayed a character who switched allegiances from Will Ferrell’s character to his best friend. The best quote from the movie is, “I’m gonna come at you like a spider monkey!”
Bibb’s career extends across both movies and television. Her notable roles in “Iron Man” and “Zoo Keeper,” while her television credits include impactful performances in “The Big Easy,” “Popular,” and latest the Netflix series “Jupiter’s Legacy”.
7: Cara Mund
Mund representing Bismarck, ND won the spotlight winning Miss America in 2018. Her triumph marked a historic moment as she became the first contestant from North Dakota to clinch the prestigious title of Miss America.
6: Chris Coste
Born and raised in Fargo and attended Fargo South High School. Coste joined Major League Baseball (MLB) at 33 and won a World Series Ring with the Philadelphia Phillies.
Currently, he manages the Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks and led the RedHawks to win the championship in 2022. Besides baseball, Chris wrote books like “Hey… I’m Just the Catcher” and “The 33-Year-Old Rookie.
5: Roger Maris
Maris was raised in Fargo, ND, and went to Shanley High.
He played professional baseball for the New York Yankees. Maris was MLB’s Single-Season Home Run King from 1961-1998 and broke Babe Ruth’s home run record in 1961 by hitting 61. He also won several World Series Championships.

From Bismarck ND Wentz played college football at North Dakota State University, securing two consecutive NCAA FCS national championships.
Drafted 2nd overall by the Philadelphia Eagles in the 2016 NFL Draft, the highest-drafted FCS player. Notable success in 2017, leading the Eagles to an 11–2 record contributing to their first Super Bowl Title.
Currently signed with LA Rams Wentz also played for the Indianapolis Colts and Washington Commanders in his football journey.

Ritchson is an actor born in Grand Forks, ND, and giving North Dakota’s most famous person a run for his money. His latest roles include joining the cast of the “Fast X” movie and also starring opposite Jennifer Lawrence in the second “Hunger Games” as the character Gloss, and Blue Mountain State TV Show on Spike.
He is currently starring as the main role in the Amazon Prime TV series “Reacher” with Season 2 officially out!
2: Phil Jackson
Jackson is from Williston, ND, and played college basketball at UND. He went on to play 12 seasons in the NBA winning 2 Championships.
BUT best known for etching his name in NBA history as a coach winning 11 NBA titles with powerhouse players and teams like the Michael Jordan and Chicago Bulls as well as Kobe Bryant and the Los Angeles Lakers.
