SANDSTONE, Minn. – Four lion cubs rescued from Ukraine have a permanent home at the Wildcat Sanctuary in Sandstone, but officials said there’s more work to be done.
Director Tammy Thies said they’re trying to get more wildcats out of the war-torn country. She says the big cats could be sold, starved, or even die in Ukraine.
The four cubs they rescued have been in Minnesota for one year.
