GRAND FORKS, N.D. (UND Athletics)– The University of North Dakota hockey program climbed to No. 2 in the USCHO.com Poll that was released on Monday following a sweep over then-No. 18 Minnesota Duluth last weekend at AMSOIL Arena.
The ranking is the highest for the program since March 22, 2021, when the Fighting Hawks entered the 2021 NCAA Tournament with the No. 1 spot in the nation. UND also received nine first place votes, the most among teams not sitting atop the poll.
NoDak is coming off a pair of wins over Minnesota Duluth to open NCHC play, rolling to a 4-2 victory on Friday night before closing out a sweep on Saturday with a 2-0 win. Forward Louis Jamernik V paced the group with a pair of goals, his first two of the season, over the weekend while goaltender Ludvig Persson stopped 50-of-52 shots fired his way to finish the series with a .960 save percentage, a 1.00 goals against average and his second shutout of the campaign.
UND remained at No. 4 in the USA Hockey/The Rink Live Poll, which was also released on Monday.
