MINNEAPOLIS – President Biden will travel to Minnesota Wednesday. Biden and his Secretary of Agriculture Tom Vilsac will visit a family farm in Northfield where the President is expected to promote his accomplishments in securing funding for rural communities.
According to the White House, Biden’s trip to Minnesota is part of a two-week event series designed to highlight “how Bidenomics and the President’s Investing in America agenda are ensuring rural Americans do not have to leave their hometowns to find opportunity.”
The President has seen his approval ratings hit its lowest point during his tenure, and his visit will come a few days after Minnesota Rep. Dean Phillips announced he will challenge Biden in the Democratic primary next year, expressing fears that Biden will lose to Donald Trump next November.
The visit also comes weeks into the Middle East conflict, and not all Minnesotans are happy to see him. In fact, spokesperson Wyatt Miller says the state Anti-War Committee is “unwelcoming” the president, holding a rally outside the Minneapolis Federal Building to show their frustration with Biden’s policies on Palestine.
Miller says they plan to show that many of Biden’s progressive base that would normally vote for him is outraged at his refusal to call for a ceasefire.
