PLYMOUTH, Minn. – A construction worker and firefighter from Belle Plaine, Minnesota is the pedestrian struck and killed by a dump truck Wednesday evening in Plymouth.
The Hennepin County Medical Examiner’s Office said Michael Gau, 54, died of multiple blunt force injuries at the scene. Police said Gau was hit by the truck in a construction zone on Rockford Road near Highway 169.
Gau was a lieutenant with the Belle Plaine Fire Department, and the city honored him with a procession from Minnetonka to the funeral home in Belle Plaine.
