ST. PAUL, Minn – A survey by the Minnesota Schools Boards Association has found that most Minnesota schools are starting the 2023 school year with multiple teacher and paraprofessional positions unfilled.
The survey, conducted August 3-9, found that there were 349 open teacher positions in outstate Minnesota and 519 teacher positions open in seven metro county areas around the Twin Cities.
As for paraprofessional vacancies, outstate Minnesota had 571 open spots, with the metro needing 698 paraprofessionals.
