ST. PAUL, Minn. – Minnesota Attorney General Keith Ellison and the Federal Trade Commission are cracking down on illegal robocalls to consumers.
“Operation Stop Scam Calls” is an initiative targeting robocallers and the companies that enable them. It also targets those who collect and provide telephone numbers, falsely claiming the consumers agreed to receive calls.
Ellison said Minnesotans file more complaints about robocalls to his office than any other problem. He said his motto is “don’t hang on, hang up,” and encourages Minnesotans who receive robocalls to file a complaint with his office.
