FRAZEE, Minn. (KFGO) – The Otter Tail County Sheriff’s Office says it was a boy who died in a boating accident on Lake Six Thursday afternoon.
The incident happened around 4:15 p.m. when the boy, 13-year-old Benjamin Rennie of Andover, Minnesota, and another juvenile were riding on an inner tube being pulled behind a boat that was driven by an employee of Camp Cherith.
The two juveniles fell off the tube and, while camp employees were trying to help Rennie out of the water, the boat struck him.
First responders provided medical aid, but the Rennie died at the scene.
No charges are anticipated.
Both Rennie and the other juvenile were wearing life jackets and the crash remains under investigation.
