GRAND FORKS, N.D. (KFGO) – Following a vote by the North Dakota State Board of Higher Education in March to ban the popular Chinese social media platform TikTok from all state-supported computer and internet systems, the University of North Dakota has issued a notice to faculty, staff and students.
Tik Tok will be blocked from the wireless and wired UND network as of Tuesday June 20. The university system-wide ban is effective July 1. The higher ed. system says it was done for national security reasons.
People on the campuses will still be able to access TikTok on personal devices, not connected to the 11 school’s networks.
