ST. PAUL, Minn. – The Minnesota Department of Health is reporting the state’s first cases of Mpox of the year.
Officials said both cases of the virus, formerly known as monkeypox, were in adults in Hennepin County.
There were 234 reported cases of Mpox in Minnesota in 2022.
The Department of Health said the vaccination for Mpox is safe and effective, and two doses can significantly decrease the chance of infection and prevent serious illness.
