FARGO (KFGO) – City Engineer Brenda Derrig has accepted the city’s offer to become Fargo’s new Assistant City Administrator.
Derrig was among 42 applicants for the job. Former Assistant Administrator Mike Redlinger took over the top job from Bruce Grubb, who retired in 2022.
Derrig will be paid $204,000 annually once the City Commission officially appoints her, which they are expected to do at their Monday night meeting.
There were seven people interviewed for the role before five finalists were named. The other finalists were Fargo Fire Chief Steve Dirksen, West Fargo Fire Chief Dan Fuller, Dilworth City Administrator Peyton Mastera, and the city administrator in New Brighton, Minnesota. The selection committee which recommended Derrig included Redlinger, Cass County Administrator Robert Wilson, and three other city employees.
