SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – Junior infielder James Dunlap and junior right-handed pitcher Cade Feeney have been named TicketSmarter Summit League Peak Performers of the Week, the league office announced on Monday afternoon.
Dunlap was tabbed the Co-Peak Performer of the Week along with Jake McMurray from Oral Roberts. He registered a .563 batting average, 1.125 slugging percentage and .526 on-base percentage to help power the Bison to four straight wins last week, including a series sweep of Western Illinois.
Dunlap tallied a team-best nine hits, including two home runs, one double and one triple. He contributed a team-high 12 RBI with six runs and stole two bases on three attempts. The Tulsa, Okla., native posted three multiple hit games and tied a season-high four in the series opener against Western Illinois. He finished out the week against the Leathernecks with three hits, including two home runs in the fifth inning to go along with a career-high five RBI.
Feeney notched his third Peak Pitcher of the Week honor this season after he helped NDSU pick up a 10-0 win in its home opener against Western Illinois. The Bismarck, N.D., native delivered 7.2 scoreless frames with five strikeouts and one walk. He also limited the Leathernecks to a .172 batting average.
Additionally, Feeney earned his 20th career win on the hill and improved his overall record to 20-8 over three seasons at NDSU. He’s one of four players to reach the 20-win mark and ranks tied for third place all-time in Bison history.
NDSU will be back in action at Nebraska on Wednesday night. First pitch is set for 6:30 p.m.
