ST. PAUL, Minn. (WCCO) – Two ten-year-old girls were killed in an ATV crash Saturday in Washington County, and a 13-year-old boy injured in a separate ATV accident in Chisago County has died from his injuries.
Authorities say the girls died at the scene on the 1000 block of Neal Avenue South in Afton near St. Peter Lutheran Church. First responders found the girls trapped under the ATV and they were unable to save their lives.
The crash happened at 5:00 p.m. Saturday, just hours after a separate ATV crash in Chisago County that sent 13-year-old Mason Demenge to the hospital, where he later died.
Authorities say he was operating the machine when it rolled on the Ivywood Trail. He was wearing a helmet at the time, died after he was taken to Regions Hospital in St. Paul.
It’s not known what caused either crash.
