FARGO (KFGO) -A fire significantly damaged a townhome at 2704 27th Street South in Fargo.
Firefighters responded to a report of smoke inside the residence at 9:30 p.m. Tuesday. The resident arrived home to find heavy smoke inside the home and quickly got out and called 911.
Fire crews found smoke had filled the townhome from floor to ceiling. They were able to locate the fire and put it out within minutes. The resident told firefighters her dog was inside. Crews located the dog but it wasn’t breathing. Firefighters immediately attempted resuscitation on the dog but were not successful.
The townhome had extensive smoke damage and the resident was displaced.
The cause of the fire is under investigation and a damage estimate is not available.
