FARGO (KFGO) – North Dakota State University President David Cook has announced three initiatives in the NDSU Transform plan to improve enrollment, retention, and Diversity Inclusion and Respect efforts.
In an email released Tuesday, Cook said NDSU is expanding online opportunities and professional advising, and rolling out the Bison Bridge Program.
Cook said programs will be available that will offer synchronous and asynchronous schedules, and will be offered at the in-state tuition rate regardless of where the student is located.
Starting this fall, the university will be offering bachelor’s degrees in Cybersecurity, Software Engineering, and University Studies, a master’s degree in Business Administration, and Nursing degrees for LPN to BSN and RN to BSN.
There will also be opportunities for early entry coursework for high school students that aren’t offered at their high school.
Cook said they will be investing in advisors in each college who will work collectively with other advisors and faculty to support first- and second-year students, first-semester transfer students, and other students needing extra support.
The Bison Bridge Program will launch this summer and focus on helping multicultural students transition to life at NDSU.
“These are big changes for NDSU that will allow us to serve our students and North Dakota in new and exciting ways,” Cook said. “I am looking forward to working with campus on these initiatives.”
