(KFGO/KNFL) Three area teams are headed to the Twin Cities for the Minnesota State High School Boys Basketball Tournaments this week.
In Class AA, Dilworth-Glyndon-Felton is back at state for the first time since 2016. The Rebels (24-6) are a random draw, and will face #3 seed Plainview-Elgin-Millville (26-4) on Tuesday night at 8:00 PM at Williams Arena. P-E-M is the Section 1AA champion after defeating Lake City 58-55 on Thursday in the section final. The winner will play in the AA semifinals on Friday night at Taret Center.
In Class A, Border West is the #5 seed and will face #4 seed Cherry on Wednesday at 1:00 PM at Williams Arena. Border West, a cooperative between Wheaton/Herman-Norcross and Clinton-Graceville-Bearsley, has won 23 straight games and is 26-2 on the season. Cherry is led by Isaac Asuma, who has committed to play at the University of Minnesota.
Sacred Heart (27-4) will face #2 seed New Life Academy on Wednesday at 3:00 PM at Williams Arena. The Eagles are back for the second consecutive season after placing 5th in Class A in 2022.
Class A semifinals will be played on Friday afternoon at Target Center.
