ST. PAUL, Minn. (KFGO) – A bill introduced in the Minnesota Senate aims to ban the sale of plastic water bottles. The ban would not apply to plastic bottles that hold other beverages.
A retailer selling water in plastic bottles could face a $50 fine for each violation, with a maximum penalty of $500.
Assistant Majority Leader Kelly Morrison (D-Deephaven) is listed as the only author of bill SF 2791.
The bill has been sent to the Commerce and Consumer Protection committee.
