MINNEAPOLIS – City officials have postponed their planned clearing of a long-standing homeless encampment near the Quarry shopping center in northeast Minneapolis, saying there could be violence by people defending the site.
The city posted signs just over a week ago that inhabitants had to leave by Wednesday, but posts circulated on social media over the weekend urging people to show up and defend the encampment.
Those at the camp say there are 15 to 20 people living there.
