THIEF RIVER FALLS, Minn. – A northwest Minnesota man will be sentenced next month for the July 2021 stabbing death of his wife in Pennington County.
A sentencing hearing was scheduled Wednesday for 46-year-old Eric Reinbold of Oklee but it was pushed back to January 11th after he fired his defense attorney, Bruce Rivers.
Reinbold was convicted of the second-degree murder of Lisette Reinbold in late September. Prosecutors say he stabbed his wife 27 times as she was leaving for work on July 9, 2021. He evaded authorities for more than three weeks before being captured.
Reinbold indicated to the court that he plans to hire new counsel.
