MINNEAPOLIS – The Regent Candidate Advisory Council is looking to fill four open positions on the University of Minnesota Board in 2023.
Chair Senator Greg Clausen said the ideal candidate has experience serving on a governing board or nonprofit organization.
“They are the governing body for the University of Minnesota,” Clausen said. “You’re looking for someone that, in many cases, has governing experience. They’ve served on a board, or a nonprofit, or an organization where they’ve had a very similar role.”
Clausen said It is an unpaid and time-consuming position for someone who loves the U of M.
“What we look for is a person that’s really committed to the University of Minnesota and their mission,” Clausen said. “We think that’s one of the very important traits that we try to find.”
The open positions are in Minnesota’s Second, Third and Eighth congressional districts, and a statewide at-large seat.
Regent applications are due by Dec. 2.
