FARGO (KFGO) – A Fargo man arrested for causing two interstate crashes, leading police and state troopers on a pursuit and firing shots from the balcony of his apartment does not have an extensive criminal history in North Dakota.
East Central District Court files show 28-year-old Maichael Yousa was most recently fined $750, given a suspended 30-day jail sentence and placed on probation after pleading guilty to drunken driving in May of last year. Yousa was also charged with driving under suspension or revocation in both Fargo and West Fargo in 2016.
Yousa was arrested for reckless endangerment after the State Patrol says he ran into the back of a motorcycle on I-94 late Tuesday afternoon, fired shots from his apartment, led officers on a pursuit, and again fired shots after causing a collision on an I-29 off-ramp to Interstate-94. He was shot twice by a trooper.
He was taken to a hospital and then to jail. Other charges are pending.
The motorcycle driver, Eric O’Meara, 34, of Horace, suffered life-threatening injuries.
