North Dakota Highway Patrol reported a pickup truck traveling northbound on Hwy 52 left its lane and entered the southbound lane, striking a semi-truck head-on.
The semi ignited upon impact and came to rest in the ditch. The pickup landed in the opposing ditch. The 23-year-old male from Donnybrook, N.D., was the pickup driver. He was pronounced dead on the scene. The semi-driver is reported to be a 44-year-old man from Lethbridge, AB.
The crash happened near MM 79, 11 miles south of Carpio, N.D. NDHP and Ward County Sheriff’s Office, Carpio Fire, Burlington Fire and Rescue, NorthStar Critcair, and Minot Community Ambulance responded.
