MOORHEAD, MINN. (KFGO) – The driver of a stolen car involved in a crash in Moorhead on Monday afternoon was arrested on charges of possession of a stolen vehicle, fleeing, DWI, reckless driving, fleeing, and other violations. He’s identified as 43-year old Cory Youngbear, of Grand Forks.
The vehicle, stolen in Fargo, was spotted by Moorhead police but fled when an officer attempted a traffic stop. Youngbear struck three different tire deflation devices during the pursuit. Police discontinued the chase because of increased speeds and traffic. The car continued for another three blocks before striking a vehicle at the intersection of 8th Street and Main Avenue.
Youngbear was taken by ambulance to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The driver of the other vehicle was checked at the scene but not transported. Both vehicles were heavily damaged.
