MOORHEAD, Minn. (KFGO) – Blood test results have confirmed that seven members of a Moorhead family died of carbon monoxide poisoning last month.
The family was found dead in their twin home in the 4400 block of 13th St. S. on December 18th.
High levels of carbon monoxide were detected in their bodies and the furnace was one suspected cause of the poisonous gas. A dead battery in a car parked in the garage was ruled out after a third-party lab did further analysis on behalf of the Ramsey County Medical Examiner’s Office.
A carbon monoxide detector that had been removed from a wall was found in a cabinet. The victims ranged in age from 5 to 37. The Pinto-Hernandez family moved to Moorhead from Honduras.
