ST. PAUL, Minn. – Flags are lowered to half-staff in Minnesota Saturday in honor of former U-S Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid.
Governor Walz said in his proclamation, “Throughout his long career of public service, Harry Reid was instrumental in passing landmark legislation that made a positive difference in the lives of countless Americans and made our nation stronger and safer.”
The Nevada Democrat lost a three-year battle with pancreatic cancer last month at age 82. Senator Amy Klobuchar said Reid worked with Republicans to get a pool safety bill passed following the death of Abbey Taylor of Edina.
There’s a memorial for Reid today in Las Vegas.
