HANKINSON, N.D. (KFGO) – A Hankinson teen was seriously injured in a crash Monday afternoon.
The State Patrol says the teen’s car collided with a van at an intersection four miles north of Hankinson.
The 16-year-old’s vehicle went in a ditch and into a field where it struck the chisel plow of a tractor, which swung the car into the plow’s side.
The driver of the van rolled in a ditch and rolled several times, ending up on its roof. Robert Albrecht, 48, was transported to Essentia Health in Fargo where he was treated and released.
The juvenile driving the car was transported to I-29 by Breckenridge Ambulance, where it was intercepted with Sanford AirMed and flown to Sanford Hospital. He was in stable but critical condition.
The driver of the tractor who was plowing in the field was not hurt.
The crash remains under investigation for possible charges.
