When Mabes was a puppy, she loved to chew on electronics. She cracked my computer touch screen on this occasion. As you can guess, I had to upgrade my laptop after this incident.
I feel like it’s common knowledge that pets can sometimes be sneaky, conniving little stinkers. My yellow lab, Mabel, is the epitome of “mischief maker.” Which is why when a latest survey said at least one-third of pet owners say their pet will try to eat ANYTHING, I wasn’t surprised at all.
Annually, research shows that your dog will hear a variation of “WHAT THE F*** ARE YOU EATING?!” at least 50 times when caught with something they definitely shouldn’t have. I personally probably ask Mabel what she’s eating 50 times a DAY, so that number seems a little low to me. At least I’m not alone in chasing my dog around, though. The most common things lying around your household that dogs end up eating are socks, garbage, and children’s toys, so make sure you’re putting those up and out of reach. 48% of dogs actually EAT socks, and their owner’s find the other missing half of the pair after the fact – EW. Although homegirl does like to run off with my socks quite often, Mabel’s favorite things to destroy are my shoes – particularly the expensive ones. What can I say, she has expensive taste.
So, if you’re struggling to keep your pooch on a FOOD-ONLY diet, just know you’re not alone. And hopefully they end up growing out of it – I can’t afford expensive leather shoes as a daily meal.
I’ve attached a couple photos of Mabel doing what she does best – being a pain in the booty and with a shameful look on her face after being scolded. I’ll add a cute one in there too. Hopefully you enjoy her as much as I do!

This was after spending an entire hour throwing up around the cabin after eating a dead fish AND a frog at the lake this past summer. She also made me throw up. So we were not best friends at this moment.

Okay, but look at how cute she is when shes not being naughty!!!!!
XOXO, Alyssa
