NORMAN CO. Minn (KFGO) – A man is in jail after fleeing from police in Norman County, Minnesota.
On Friday July, 16th Norman County deputies were trying to locate 26-year-old Jacob S. Iten, who had outstanding felony warrants. A deputy attempted to make a traffic stop on a vehicle on Minnesota Highway 9, North of Ada when the driver fled. The deputy discovered the driver was likely the suspect they had been searching for.
The suspect fled west on gravel roads until it reached Highway 75, north of Shelly. The vehicle turned north on Highway 75, when the suspect’s car experienced an issue, and caught fire. The driver then veered into a cornfield, exited the vehicle, and ran.
A perimeter was set up around the field by and the Norman County Sheriff’s Office K-9, along with other law enforcement agencies. Law enforcement received a tip about 3:30 pm on the suspect’s location.
Iten was found near cornfield and was taken into custody without incident. In addition possible charges in Norman County, Iten has an outstanding warrant in Cass County, ND.
On May 12th, Iten was arrested for reckless driving in Fargo and was apprehended by Fargo Police with the help of some bystanders due to Iten resisting arrest.
