GRAND FORKS, N.D. – After the first road win of the season in convincing fashion, No. 2 UND heads down 75 miles down I-29 for a battle with No. 4 North Dakota State at 2:30 p.m. from Gate City Bank Field at the FargoDome. Fans can tune into 790 AM |104.7 FM |94.1 and the Home of Economy Radio Network with Jack Michaels and Tom Dosch.
North Dakota is off to one of its best starts since moving to Division I in 2008, going 4-0 for the second time in the program’s DI history. UND is also 4-0 in league play for the first time since 2016, a year that saw the Fighting Hawks go 8-0 on the way to a Big Sky Conference title. A win over No. 4 NDSU would mark the first 5-0 start in the DI era for UND and the first since 2007 when the Fighting Sioux started 6-0.
UND has not made its fans sweat through the first four games of the season, claiming each of its wins by at least 10 points. In fact, the 11-point margin of victory over then-No. 3 South Dakota State is the closest game the Hawks have played all year and the only game to be a one possession contest in the fourth quarter.
North Dakota has made it a point to dominate the second halves of games through the first portion of the season, outscoring its opponents, 80-31, over that span. UND has scored on the opening possession of the second half in every game and put points on the board on three of its four drives in the second half in last week’s 38-21 win at Western Illinois.
