GRAND FORKS (KFGO) – The cause of the Jan. 9 fatal crash in downtown Grand Forks was likely the result of a medical emergency suffered by one of the drivers.
Grand Forks police have completed their investigation into a four-vehicle crash that left three people dead.
Toxicology reports on the driver of the striking vehicle did not show alcohol in the bloodstream. The report says that 21-year old Jenessa Kelley of Crookston likely suffered a medical issue prior to or during a hit-and-run crash in East Grand Forks, Minn. prior to the Grand Forks collision.
Police say Kelley was traveling through downtown Grand Forks at more than 70 mph when she struck a car, an SUV, and then a van. Two Fertile, Minnesota women in the van were also killed in the crash.
