HANKINSON, N.D. (KFGO) – Damages to the building and the loss of equipment in the Richland County Highway Dept. maintenance shop is expected to reach several million dollars.
The cause of the Monday night fire is under investigation by the state fire marshal’s office.
County Emergency Manager Brett Lambrecht says plow-trucks, road graders, a skid-steer loader, a sign truck and tools are among just some of the equipment and property lost. Electrical equipment that is linked to a communications tower was also destroyed. The county has switched to a back-up system to page fire departments and the ambulance services in the county.
The state insurance reserve fund covers the building and the property.
