ADA, MN (KFGO) – While Gov. Walz’s latest executive order banning indoor dining in Minnesota has made it difficult for restaurants to capitalize on the holiday season, two bars in Ada have found a creative way to ring in 2021.
Main Street Bar and Twisted Sisters at Pub 21 in Ada will be “Fishing for a better year” by inviting patrons to bring their fish houses and campers for a special New Year’s Eve celebration that includes dinner and live music.
“We’re just trying to make the best out of the situation we are in,” says Amber Kroshus owner of The Main Street Bar “since Walz has allowed outdoor seating we are trying to make a fun night for everyone to come out.”
The fish house idea originally started as a joke “Some guys came in to get some takeout one day and we were all sick of being inside so I jokingly said lets set up fish houses and it took off.” say Twisted Sisters owner Lori Pladson
“It’s a big fishing community and the lakes aren’t really strong enough to hold these fish houses so let’s make use of them and ring in the new year.”
Restaurants in Minnesota are only allowed outdoor dining and take out until January 10th at 11:59 pm as part of Gov.Walz’s dial back strategy which is attempting to limit the spread of COVID-19.
