FARGO, N.D. (KFGO – North Dakota State Troopers were attempting to stop a driver wanted by the Clay County Sheriff’s Office for a sexual assault when the driver crashed and was killed on I-29 in Fargo Tuesday shortly before 7 p.m. Tuesday.
Troopers had spotted the suspect’s SUV headed northbound and seconds after activating their emergency lights, the driver accelerated, swerved off the highway, and struck a concrete bridge pillar at the I-94 overpass.
The 47-year old driver was alone and died at the scene. His name will be released Wednesday afternoon. The incident remains under investigation.
