WEST FARGO, N.D. (KFGO) – A fire damaged the Howard Johnson hotel at 525 East Main Avenue in West Fargo over the weekend.
The building has been vacant for months and there were no injuries. Firefighters responded to an alarm late Saturday night.
The fire was found in one of the hotel rooms. The sprinkler system had extinguished the fire and the hotel needed to be ventilated for smoke. Crews checked for extension of fire and found none. The damage was limited to the room where it started.
The Fire Marshal and West Fargo Police Department are investigating the cause of the fire but the initial indication was found as electrical. The estimated loss is put at $10,000 to $15,000.
