It takes about three-months to get over someone, but longer to get over a divorce.
Researchers looked at 155 college students who had gone through a breakup within the past six-months and found that it took 71% of them 11-weeks (approximately three-months) to get over their ex-boyfriend or ex-girlfriend.
In another study, researchers looked at 4000 divorced adults and found that it takes an average of 17-months and 26-days from the date matters are finalized to get over a divorce.
