FARGO, ND (KFGO) – The Cass County Sheriff’s Office, along with the North Dakota Bureau of Criminal Investigation, is currently investigating an incident at the Cass County Jail where an inmate became unresponsive and was transported to a local area hospital. It is believed that the inmate ingested a controlled substance.
The inmate’s family was notified of the incident and after receiving medical care, the inmate is now back at the Cass County Jail where they are doing fine.
The Cass County Sheriff’s Office and the ND BCI are currently investigating how the substance was introduced into the facility and how the inmate obtained the substance.
At this time, no further information is being released pending the active and on-going investigation.
