BISMARCK, ND (AP) – North Dakota health officials have reported 116 new coronavirus cases, the second-highest number of confirmed cases in a single day.
The Department of Health says the cases Saturday were reported in 26 counties, raising the statewide total since the pandemic reached North Dakota in mid-March to 4,907. The report was out of 4,793 total tests; the positivity rate was 2.4%.
No new deaths were reported Saturday. Health officials say 90 deaths related to COVID-19 have been reported.
A total of 295 people statewide have been hospitalized since the start of the pandemic, with 38 remaining so on Saturday. North Dakota has now surpassed 4,000 recovers with 126 more reported Saturday. That total is now 4,029.
The previous single-day high for newly confirmed cases was Friday, with 124 cases.
