FARGO, N.D. (KFGO) – The Fargo Planning Commission voted 5-3 to retain an ordinance that bans the sale of firearms in homes. The law has been on the books since 2001.
Planning commissioner Rocky Schneider was nervouse about having strangers purchasing guns in a residential neighborhood. He said he would trust the neighbor selling firearms but not the strangers buying the firearms. He said, “I don’t know them.”
Edward Krystosek, a licensed federal firearms dealer for 6 years, said the A-T-F monitors operations carefully and regulations are stringent for gun sales. He said said he’s had no complaints about his business:
The vote is not yet final. Another public hearing will be held before the city commission makes a decision.
