FARGO, N.D. (KFGO) – A fire in the basement of a home on the corner of 10th Street and 8th Ave. North in Fargo spread to the second floor and did significant damage to the structure Tuesday at 11:30 p.m.
Fire Marshal Ryan Erickson says crews had the flames extinguished within 30 minutes after arriving but had some trouble containing the blaze due to construction inside and the spread of the house.
Erickson told KFGO News that there were unconfirmed reports that someone was in the house when it started, but says that there were no injuries.
Several cats and a dog died in the fire. Several other pets were saved. A cause has not been determined.
