West Fargo, ND – The second ranked team in the state Sheyenne Mustangs (4-0) took on cross town rival West Fargo Packers (2-2), in a 21-6 Mustang victory on Friday Night.
The Mustangs were led on the ground by junior Barika Kpeenu with his sixth and seventh touchdowns on the season, one for 26 yards and the other a 64 yard TD with seconds to go.
Sheyenne’s Tyler Therhark had a receiving TD for his fourth of the year. He also had a Packer momentum killing interception in the third quarter.
West Fargo Had a slow start with only 1 rush yard in the half, quarterback Dustin Mertz threw three interceptions, one in the end zone but did get his team on the board with a two yard run with 3:58 to go in the fourth quarter.
West Fargo Continue their season next week home vs Grand Forks Red River while the Sheyenne Mustangs travel to Shanley next Friday night.
