Fargo, N.D. (AP) The prospect of another major flood in Fargo this spring has spurred more people to contact city officials about selling their homes.
Assistant City Attorney Butch McConn says two homes are under contract and another eight homeowners are negotiating to sell their properties. He says the cost of all the properties could total $4 million.
The city commission has voted to authorize staff to pursue the buyouts.
City records show that Fargo has purchased at least 24 homes worth $7.1 million as of late February.
