Fargo, ND (fmredhawks)--The Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks opened the 2014 exhibition schedule with a 6-1 loss to the St. Paul Saints on Sunday night at Newman Outdoor Field in Fargo. The story of the game was the Saints pitching, which struck out the RedHawks 14 times and held Fargo-Moorhead to four hits. Nick Colwell drove in the only run of the game for the RedHawks with an RBI single in the eighth inning. St. Paul was led at the plate by Joe Bonfe and Angelo Songco. Bonfe was 3-for-4 with two RBIs and three runs scored. Songco was also 3-for-4 with two runs scored. Saints reliever Anthony Claggett was credited with the victory, while RedHawks starter Taylor Stanton was tagged with the loss. Stanton allowed one run on four hits in 3.0 innings pitched. The RedHawks and Saints will play the second game of their exhibition series tonight at 6:00 p.m. at Newman Outdoor Field.
