FARGO, ND (KFGO AM) -- Area residents got an opportunity to hear first hand what's happening in our nation's capitol as Senator Heidi Heitkamp held a town hall meeting in Fargo last night.
More than 50 people turned out.
The hour-long session covered issues in the oil patch, the minimum wage, and gender inequality.
Someone asked a question about railroad safety. Heitkamp says she is pushing for better training of emergency responders, new regulations, and higher quality tank cars.
The Casselton fire chief will join the Senator next week at a hearing in Washington on emergency responder readiness.
