Madonna was in Detroit on Tuesday, chatting music with kids at the Detroit Achievement Academy.

The Michigan native posted photos on Instagram of her visit to the free public charter school, which opened last year. In one picture , Madonna is kneeling on a mat in front of four kids; she writes, "Discussing Michael Jackson vs. Pharrell Williams ! Watch out! Detroit is coming back !!!!! #revolutionoflove."

The caption of another photo reads, "Sharing stories with kids at the Detroit Achievement Academy! Very impressed by [school founder] Kyle Smitley and her team doing what they can to bring education back to the Motor City! #knowledgeispower #revolutionoflove."

"Revolution of Love" has been a mantra of sorts for the singer for more than a year as a way to highlight the causes she supports.

Detroit Achievement Academy acknowledged its celebrity guest on its Facebook page , posting a photo of her with the students and writing, "Today was .... iconic. We are all so smitten over Madonna's visit."

On Instagram, Madonna documented the time she spent at other locations in Detroit on Tuesday, including the Downtown Boxing Gym , which supports urban youth.
