Pregnancy has been anything but easy but luckily I have had a great support group around me. I also have a truly amazing group of doctors and nurses from Sanford Women’s who have put up with a whole whack of ridiculous questions.
If you have read my previous blog posts you know that I have pretty much had every pregnancy symptom thrown my way. I decided to compile a list of products and coping methods that have helped me through my pregnancy so far. Keep in mind everyones pregnancy is unique and what worked for me may not work for you…
One of the first things I noticed change in my body was my skin. It became so dry. Part of what I was experiencing good have been the fridgid North Dakota winter but the rest of it I am going to attribute to hormone changes making your skin stretch out, tighten and lose elasticity. Also I want to add that it can make your belly VERY itchy! I went through a ton of moisturizers and lotions before I settled on LoLLIA by Margot Elena. I had gotten it as birthday gift and now I am obsessed and will continue to use it after my pregnancy.
The “Wish” Body Butter is great for keeping the whole body soft and moisturized and smells AMAZING!
The “Wish” Dry Body Oil is great or rubbing on the belly to prevent stretch marks. It feels so good on and doesn’t leave a greasy residue.
Burt’s Bees “Mama Bee” belly butter is great for the belly. It rubs in really good and leaves your belly feeling soft and gets rid of that annoying belly itch
.
Lush “Therapy- Sweetdreamy” Massage Bar is great for stretch marks. After just a few weeks of using the bar I can already see the color of my stretch marks getting lighter and I haven’t had any new ones since using the bar.
Lush “Dream Cream” Hand and body lotion is great for those itchy hands and feet.
Lush “Elbow Grease” Moisturizing Balm is perfect for those intense dry patches. After just a few applications you will notice a HUGE difference. Lush is also a great company to buy from because they do not test on animals and all of their products are hand made.
Dr. Lipp “Original Nipple Balm” is great for those specialty chapped areas. Boy was I surprised that those things changed at all. I thought you had to worry about them when you start breastfeeding not through pregnancy. Luckily this nipple balm prevented mine from falling off!
Hopefully if your having some of the pregnancy skin care issues I have had to go through these products will help you. Pregnant or not though anyone would enjoy these products!
