UPDATE: 8:15pm: Casselton and a 5 mile region surrounding the city is under a voluntary (but strongly encouraged) evacuation. Winds will shift later this evening and push the toxic fumes over the city and surrounding area.
UPDATE 5:45pm: At least seven oil cars burst into flames after a BNSF train carrying crude oil derailed and was then hit by another train. The 106 car long train was headed eastbound when it derailed just west of Casselton at approximately 2:10 p.m. No crew members have been reported injured.
A train derailed in Casselton today and then exploded! Check out this amazing video! Emergency crews are on the scene of a train derailment and fire on the west side of Casselton. At least one rail car is on fire.

A "Code Red Alert" has been issued advising Casselton residents to stay indoors.
